The 140th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) opened on October 15th, drawing significant attention to its newly established "Fair2Care" international medical services zone. The booth hosted by the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine has attracted numerous overseas buyers to experience traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) diagnoses and treatments, highlighting the growing global appeal of Lingnan TCM techniques.

Early on opening morning, international buyers had already arrived ahead of schedule to seek consultations. A buyer from Saudi Arabia sought advice at the boothdue to physical discomfort. Experts from the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine utilized traditional TCM diagnostic methods—inspection, auscultation and olfaction, inquiry, and palpation—to accurately assess the buyer's condition, with their findings closely aligning with the buyer's English medical report. The buyer also experienced the "Lingnan Chen's Acupuncture Method," a national intangible cultural heritage, reporting a remarkable sense of physical relaxation.

Chen Xiuhua, a physician participating in the Canton Fair for the second time, noted that international buyers' awareness of TCM has significantly increased. Moving past pure curiosity and observation, they now actively seek consultations and try out physical therapies, demonstrating the steadily growing international influence of TCM.

The exhibition featured specialized programs such as TCM constitution identification, wellness guidance, traditional therapy experiences, and health-promoting herbal tea displays. In response to queries from overseas buyers, medical staff explained that TCM treatment is tailored based on holistic syndrome differentiation. It is centered on the individual, regardless of race or skin color, allowing for customized wellness plans tailored to each person's unique condition.

For this year's Canton Fair, the Guangdong Provincial Hospital of Chinese Medicine dispatched an on-site team of 25 experts, upgrading its lineup from previous sessions. As a national base for the export of TCM service, the hospital continues to refine its bilingual and integrated Chinese-Western medical service system for international patients. Leveraging the Canton Fair as a global gateway, the hospital aims to showcase the unique charm of Lingnan TCM to the world and help TCM culture go global.
