Guangdong's memory chip output surged 60.6% in the first five months of this year. According to data released by the Guangdong Provincial Bureau of Statistics on June 26th, the province's value added of industrial enterprises above the designated size grew 3.2% year on year during the period. Among them, advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing enterprises above the designated size posted strong performance, with value added rising 5.3% and 11.0%, respectively. Together, the two sectors accounted for more than 90% of the province's value added of industrial enterprises above the designated size, representing 56.7% and 35.1%, respectively.
Output of high-tech products also recorded rapid growth. Production of industrial robots, 3D printing equipment, integrated circuits and memory chips increased by 34.6%, 53.5%, 36.2% and 60.6%, respectively. Meanwhile, Guangdong continued to accelerate its green and low-carbon transition. Output of new energy vehicles and wind turbine generator sets remained at a high growth level, increasing by 32.4% and 16.3%, respectively.
