On January 20th, a smartphone promotion event under the"Guangdong Goods Global Reach" Spring Edition kicked off in Dongguan. This is a shopping event bringing together top global smartphone brands including Huawei, OPPO, vivo, and HONOR with major e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba, JD.com and Douyin.

Stepping into the event venue, the sounds of 109 simultaneous livestreams blended with the buzz of on-site crowds. On major phone brands' livestreams, hosts enthusiastically introduced the latest phone models, while backend orders kept rising in real time. Exhibitors offered consumers discounts ranging from 10% to 40% off, supported by government subsidies, platform subsidies, and price concessions.

At the event, six major brands unveiled 36 AI-enabled smartphones alongside a range of cutting-edge technologies. To tackle the battery-life pain point of foldable smartphones, HONOR raised the silicon content in the battery's negative electrode to an industry-leading 25%, a breakthrough likened to "fitting 15 books into a backpack built for ten," significantly boosting energy density without increasing size.

Known as the "world's factory," Dongguan plays a pivotal role in the smartphone industry. From design drawings to finished products, more than 90% of a smartphone's components can be sourced within a "one-hour commuting circle" in Dongguan. This unrivaled combination of efficiency and cost competitiveness is what makes Dongguan manufacturing so difficult to replace. The event brought together handset makers, component suppliers, e-commerce platforms, and media outlets for intensive networking and in-depth exchanges, sparking new partnerships and business models and strengthening coordination across the smartphone supply chain.
