On April 5th, Guangdong Transportation Groupannounced that the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge had seta new traffic volume record. On the first day of the Qingming Festival holiday (April 4th), the traffic volume reached 182,200 vehicle trips, marking another all-time high.

On April 4th, the total eastbound and westbound traffic volume on the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge reached 182,200 vehicle trips, with 109,800 vehicles heading toward Zhongshan and 72,400 toward Shenzhen. This marked a 2.16% increase compared to the same period last year, surpassing the previous record of 181,600 trips set on May Day 2025 and reaching a new all-time high.

"Yesterday, the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge recorded 17 minor accidents with no injuries, with the accident rate dropping by 22.7% year-on-year. The merging speed of traffic from the underwater interchange ramps and the average vehicle speed within the tunnels both improved compared to the same period last year. This is the main reason why, despite higher traffic volume this year, the length and duration of congestion have decreased," said Xu Xianwei, Director of the Road Network Dispatch Center of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge.

The "Five Bridges and Fifteen Roads" Intelligent Transportation Management Platform is China's first road network-level intelligent transportation management platform. Through traffic flow prediction and traffic situation awareness functions, it provides data support and a management basis for ensuring smooth traffic during holidays, generates management strategies, and achieves the optimal solution for regional road network management. Additionally, it offers travel recommendations via the "YueTongXing" APP, variable message signs along the route, and navigation maps to guide the public to travel during off-peak hours and alleviate traffic pressure.
