The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) continued on July 18th. The number of participating companies from Guangdong has surged from 60 in 2024 to more than 140 in 2026, forming a comprehensive industrial ecosystem spanning computing chips, large AI models, embodied intelligence and industry applications.

At one of the conference forums, HUYA CEO Junhong Huang unveiled the company's self-developed VAM 1.0, a real-time multimodal digital human model. Its capabilities can be summed up in one sentence: given a single still image, VAM can create a virtual human that can speak, listen and respond in real time, with every frame generated online rather than pre-rendered or prerecorded.

Making its WAIC debut, Guangzhou-based Quwan Technology has built a complete product chain encompassing TemPolor, its multimodal music-generation foundation model; Tunee, its conversational music-creation agent; and TemPolor Melo-D, the world's first generative AI guitar. Long lines formed at the company's booth as visitors eagerly tried out Tunee 3.0, which can take users through the entire creative process, from writing a song to producing a finished music video, using simple conversational prompts.

At the Li-Gong Industrial booth, multiple LeadIn F1 wheeled humanoid robots worked as a coordinated team, repeatedly demonstrating complete workflows for smart retail, intelligent sorting, material handling and smart warehousing. At the scene, the robots were seen performing their respective tasks at different workstations: one precisely picked products from shelves, another sorted them by category in the sorting area, while a third moved steadily along a planned route toward a replenishment station. Every step of the process was seamlessly coordinated.

Kingsoft Office, meanwhile, placed the spotlight on two AI office agents: Lingxi Pro for individual users and WPS Comate for organizations. Together, they are designed to move AI beyond "being able to chat" to "being able to deliver." A staff member asked the computer to create a PowerPoint presentation on Q2 sales data. Within seconds, the system produced a neatly formatted, fully editable presentation complete with charts and graphics.
